Los Cabos is known worldwide as a luxury tourist destination, but behind the resorts and beaches, many families face daily challenges that affect both current and future generations.
- Poverty: About 30% of the Los Cabos population lives in poverty.[¹]
- Limited Education Opportunities: English—an essential skill for better-paying jobs in a tourism-driven economy—is not taught in public schools.
- Unsupervised Youth: With many parents working long hours, children and teens are often left without safe, structured activities.
- Health Care Gaps: Families struggle to access quality health care, especially for children with disabilities.
In San José del Cabo alone, about 3,200 children have been identified as potential beneficiaries of the Youth Center based on local school data.[²]
